Seems this is a common problem with affinity and SVG exporting. I've done some more googling and some more tests based on this tidbit. This is why we always advise to design critical parts directly in Moho. No option for AI export.Īnd no, there's no way to prevent this since Affinity and Moho each use a different Beziér point model. The only other format I've had success with is PSD, but that rasterizes everything, which is not ideal. But at the end of the day, if that's my only option I guess I'll do it. I'd like to avoid using them as much as possible. Moho's drawing tools are a frustrating nightmare for me. I know the first answer is going to be "redraw the shapes in moho". I've read forum posts here, and watched a few youtube videos but they're all for older versions of moho/affinity so something might have changed in the meantime.Īnyone here work regularly with Affinity and Moho who might know what is going on and how I can fix it? I've noticed the wonky shapes are worse when I have "use relative coordinates" checked. My workflow is to draw as I want it to look, then separate all the pieces, convert everything to curves, export the vector shapes as SVG and the custom brush details as PNG's. Some are fine (everything on the head is OK), some go wonky (legs, arms, part of the collar). Whenever I try to import from Affinity to Moho using an SVG, I get a bunch of odd shapes. As with any vector art program, you need to be comfortable with creating and manipulating Bézier curves.I've just recently bought Moho and I've hit my first major stumbling block. In Affinity Designer, the pen and node tools are the way to do that. the control point for the starting pointįor a straight line, you only need the start and end points, like this. The basic idea is that you can describe any curve using four points in space: Understanding Bezier Curvesīézier curves are used in vector art programs like Affinity Designer and Adobe Illustrator to model smooth curves. There are no control points here, since we don’t need any. You change the shape of the curve by moving the control points. The curve bends toward the control point. How exactly does the software draw the curve? Wikipedia has a great animation: For example, if we move the control point attached to the start point, we can get something like this: The farther away the point is, the more the curve bends. In Affinity Designer, there are three kinds of nodes: There’s a ton of math involved, but you don’t need to know the equations to create the curves you want. Sharp nodes are either the end of a line or have a sharp angle. The nodes themselves are shown as squares. The node on the bottom is a sharp node, even though it has two control points that create two curves. Since those curves don’t join in a smooth swoop, but rather at an angle, the node is a sharp node.Įssentially, any time the two control points aren’t joined by a straight line, you have a sharp node. Here’s an example of a sharp node (on top) and a smooth node (on bottom).Īs you can see, the control points of a smooth node are joined by a single straight line. Smart nodes are simply smooth nodes where Affinity Designer controls how they look instead of you. They’re represented by a circle with a dot in them. In the animation below, a user creates several points and Affinity Designer draws curves between them using smart nodes. Use the pen tool to create curves and to transform sharp nodes into smooth nodes.

The environment on set became so toxic that Singer nearly lost the entire cast. It ended up going wrong and left Jackman bleeding on camera. And I think that things have changed for the better.”Īccording to the Hollywood Reporter, while filming X2, Singer chose to move forward with a stunt one day before it was scheduled to be filmed with a stunt coordinator present. “There are some stories, you know…I think there are some ways of being on set that would not happen now. I think it’s fair to say that…,” Jackman said of his own experience working with Singer, before taking a pause. “This was my first movie in America, you gotta understand it was all so new to me. Even Jackman’s X-Men and X2 co-star Halle Berry confessed she and Singer had “a few fights” on set. Rami Malek vaguely described his experience working on Bohemian Rhapsody-which ultimately ditched Singer-as “not pleasant,” while Olivia Munn revealed he disappeared for 10 days while making X-Men: Apocalypse. In addition to the sexual assault allegations against Singer, several actors have publicly complained about his on-set behavior. I think it’s complex and ultimately I look back with pride at what we’ve achieved and what momentum that started.” But I guess I don’t know how to elegantly answer that. And there’s certainly questions to be asked and I think they should be asked. “X-Men was the turning point, I believe, in terms of comic book movies and I think there’s a lot to be proud of. “There’s a lot of things at stake there,” the 54-year-old actor continued. When asked if Singer’s sexual assault allegations have impacted how he views previous X-Men films, Jackman told the Guardian, “You know, that’s a really, really complicated question.” Hugh Jackman is gearing up to reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming ‘Deadpool’ installment and is opening up about his experience playing the character in the wake of disgraced X-Men director Bryan Singer. The photo was underexposed and brightened in development to accentuate the noise. The above image was shot at a high ISO with noise control turned off in the camera. Furthermore, increasing the noise reduction didn’t leave the image looking as muddy as it does with some competition. Even at higher ISOs, opening photos into external noise reduction programs was unnecessary. The noise reduction from the Serif Raw Engine is pretty good, far better than Lightroom’s. Regarding sharpening, most raw developers find it hard to compete with AI-based noise reduction software, such as Topaz Denoise AI and ON1 No Noise AI. Furthermore, images shot at higher ISOs were much cleaner with Affinity than LR, even if I reduced Lightroom’s sharpening down to zero. This is good news, as it means less image development and editing time. I opened the same raw file in both Affinity Photo and Lightroom (LR), and the initial results in Affinity were far closer to the image on the rear screen of my camera, which I have set to closely match what my eyes see. The most important thing to me about any software is the results, and the Develop Persona does deliver. The different functions of the software are split between what Affinity calls “Personas.” The one I spent the most time in was Develop. It's not without a couple of shortcomings, but what software isn't? I am pleased that this has been addressed with Affinity Photo 2, and after hours of fun trying out the features, I found it stable and running smoothly on the computers I tried it on. That was mainly because an annoying glitch ruined my raw developments. I’ll have to start by admitting that I was not a fan of the first version of Affinity Photo. I’m hyper-critical of raw development tools, as that’s where most of my work is carried out. Make the cardio kind you go for the one you enjoy-the workout you look forward to is the one you keep up, after all. You'll want to consider the following lifestyle factors, too: And a mum pushing a pram is going to use more cals than say, two pals taking a leisurely amble with a flat white through the park. Plus, how much energy one woman requires to do a workout will be very different to another because our body makeup (amount of muscle etc) is all different.įor example, the number of calories you burn skipping rope for 30 minutes is very different to how many you'd burn walking outside for the same amount of time. Each type burns different amounts of calories and can be more or less time-efficient. Let's get one thing clear first, not all cardio is created equal. Focusing on getting enough protein or learning how to calculate the best macros for fat loss for you is a good place to start. You might also need to get more granular with your nutrition as losing body fat can be manipulated by tinkering with where you're getting your energy from. If you're trying to shift stubborn fat (including trying to get rid of back fat or, case in point, to lose belly fat), a routine that combines cardio for calorie burn and resistance training to preserve lean muscle tissue will serve you better than a cardio-only programme. Play icon The triangle icon that indicates to play Can cardio burn belly fat? If you're trying to lose fat, adding in regular resistance training to your workout routine, alongside your cardio, will be important – more on this later.Ĭardio alone works in favour of fat loss as it increases your heart rate and, once your HR is high enough (and you've used all the usual blood sugars and carbs up), your body is forced to convert fat into energy. When people talk about weight loss they're often referring to the number on the scale going down – fat loss is more specific, explicitly referring to lowering your body fat percentage and not losing mass from muscle tissue or water retention. Learning how to lose body fat, however, is a slightly different kettle of fish. Similarly, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking prescription medication, have an adrenal-related medical condition or a teenager or child you should absolutely not try to maintain a calorie deficit. Word to the wise: If you're already at a healthy weight for your height, a calorie deficit is not something you should be chasing. If someone is consuming the recommended amount of calories but burning more calories than that by doing cardio workouts, their output would be larger than their intake, resulting in weight loss.' 'People lose weight when their energy input is less than their energy output. (This handy calorie counter will help you calculate how many calories you need to eat to reach a healthy weight.)īut how can cardio help you stay in a calorie deficit? Whapples explains: Being in a calorie deficit can be done by adjusting your diet or your exercise, but the best approach tends to combine the two. Losing weight comes down to being in a calorie deficit – this means expending more calories than you consume. How does cardio contribute to weight and fat loss? 'It’s also sometimes known as aerobic exercise as it relies on your body’s ability to utilise oxygen to maintain efforts for a significant amount of time.'īefore we get into the nitty-gritty of cardio for weight loss, we'd also like to add that there are a myriad of cardio benefits, including regulation of appetite, heart health and protecting your immune system, so keep those front and centre when planning your exercise.ĭon't forget: Standing on the scales is just a snapshot of your body in that moment – what's more important is your overall health and how you feel throughout the day/week/month. '"Cardio" is short for cardiovascular exercise and simply means any type of exercise that increases your heart rate and maintains it,' explains Yumi Nutrition's strength and conditioning coach Kate Whapples. An average of 1,900 people search for advice on the best cardio for weight loss every month, so here's a real take on cardio for fat loss and, particularly, belly fat, so you can get moving in a way that's good for body and mind. Prefer to get busy on the rowing machine? That's totally cool too. For non-runners, this can make the idea of a cardio workout especially daunting (particularly if you attempt fasted cardio), but good news: so many different types of cardio for weight loss have come to the fore, meaning there's plenty more choice for you to work on improving your cardiovascular ability – how efficient your heart is at pumping oxygen around your body - while not adding to mental strain or draining your confidence. Ask anyone what they reckon the best cardio for weight loss is and chances are they'll say going for a run. The Open office that you use today is actually Apache open office.
